14 CFR Part 135 ETOPS Certification Program

ETOPS, or Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards was originally developed for aircraft operated under 14 CFR 121 and was originally defined as “Extended Range Operations with Twin Engine Airplanes”. To obtain 135 ETOPS certification, operator must meet a set of stringent requirements set by the FAA. These requirements are designed to ensure that the aircraft, crew, and maintenance procedures are capable of safely operating in extended-range operations.
