
Jacques Astre
Jacques Astre has over 31 years of service with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), working as an aviation safety inspector. For 27 years, he has served on general aviation, airline, and international aviation safety oversight assignments in over 58 countries. He has provided technical assistance to civil aviation authorities around the world. For 10 years, he was an FAA IASA Team Lead conducting assessments in over 50 countries.
During his career, he certified pilots, airlines, and flight schools, investigated incidents and accidents, and conducted regulatory enforcement. Jacque holds Airline Transport Pilot, Flight Engineer, Flight, and Ground Instructor licenses issued by the FAA. He holds type ratings in the Lear Jet, Gulfstream II/III, Lockheed, L-1011, and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11. He is also sea plane rated. Jacque graduated from Dowling College with a B.S. Degree in Aeronautics & Professional Pilot and holds a M.S. Degree in Human Factors Aerospace from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He currently provides training to FAA safety inspectors and foreign aviation safety inspectors for ICAO. He is fluent in French.
